IMC Health Medical Centers Takes Action to Help the Community During COVID-19 Pandemic
— IMC Health Medical Centers galvanizes its staff, transportation assets and resources to help the community affected by COVID-19 and takes the lead in a partnership with the Hispanic Star Miami, P&G, PepsiCo and other organizations in outreach initiatives to the community —
MIAMI, FL – August 18, 2020 – (LATINX NEWSWIRE) – IMC Health Medical Centers, with thirteen state-of-the-art clinics in Miami-Dade, Broward and Orange counties in Florida, has taken action to help the community during the COVID-19 pandemic, going beyond its walls and 46,000 membership to reach the community in areas of acute need and assistance.
IMC Health immediately mobilized to prioritize patient care and has doubled hot meal distribution to elderly patients from 700 to 1400 meals daily, launched “Teleamigos” telemedicine option for members and initiated the biweekly Facebook Live show “La Ventanita” to provide accurate and updated information on the pandemic.
IMC Health has provided unprecedented support to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic with initiatives led by IMC Health Director of Finance, Carolina Veira, and has galvanized the staff, transportation and storage assets while partnering with the all-volunteer Hispanic Star Miami hub, also directed by Veira, in the following community outreach initiatives to date:

— Essential Care Packages: 2,500 lives impacted by providing essential care packages to Farmworker Heroes in Homestead, FL. In partnership with: P&G, PepsiCo, Hispanic Star, Florida Venture Foundation, Buena Vida Media, Mexican American Council, Homestead Housing Authority, Farmworkers Association of Florida
IMC Health invites the community to support the current Hispanic Star Miami initiative “Face Masks for our Heroes” by going to http://bit.ly/HispanicStarMiami and helping to supply farmworker heroes with protective masks against COVID-19. The community is also invited to future events taking place on August 28th, September 3rd and September 11th at the IMC Health Medical Centers where donations of essential care packages with P&G products, face masks and census materials will be distributed to those in need.
