BURBANK, CA – January 27, 2017 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Estrella TV, the fastest growing minority-owned Spanish language network in the U.S. announced the addition of Grammy-nominated Regional Mexican recording star Joss Favela to the celebrity judge panel of its long-running hit talent competition show, Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento, now in its sixteenth season.

Favela, one of regional Mexican music’s most prominent, critically acclaimed and fastest rising stars in the U.S. joins the ranks of returning judges Ana Barbara, radio and TV personality Don Cheto, and internationally renowned music producer Pepe Garza. The show’s grand prizewinner will receive $100,000, along with career-launching support of Estrella TV and its parent company LBI Media, Inc.

Known for his songwriting and musical production prowess for recording artists such as Julión Álvarez, Gerardo Ortiz, Banda MS, Arrolladora Banda Limón, Banda El Recodo and Los Recoditos, to name a few, Favela launched “Hecho A Mano,” his first full-length debut album as singer-songwriter in 2015. Since then, he has rapidly become a household name in the Regional Mexican music space with hits like “Cuando Fuimos Nada,” and “No Vuelvas a Llamarme.” In 2016 ASCAP named him “Songwriter of the Year,” he received four important nominations at the prestigious Premios de la Radio Awards and two Latin Grammy Award nominations for Best New Artist and Best Norteño Album.

“Joss Favela represents the new generation of Regional Mexican music. He is part of the millennial community that is reinventing and keeping traditional Mexican music alive, relevant and fresh. In many ways, Joss Favela is a reflection of what Estrella TV is doing in Spanish language television in the U.S. We are proud to have him join our judges panel and welcome him to our Estrella TV family,” stated Lenard Liberman, CEO, LBI Media, Inc., parent company to Estrella TV

Previous celebrity judges have included the late Jenni Rivera and most recently, Gerardo Ortiz and Luis Coronel. The show is currently holding auditions across the U.S. and is slated to premier nationally on the Estrella TV Network on March 27th, and will air regularly Monday through Friday at 8:00 p.m./ 7:00 p.m. Central.
