NORTHAMPTON, MA – May 31, 2017 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Mister G, a Latin GRAMMY Award-Winning children’s musician today released “Gozar,” the first song from his forthcoming bilingual environmental-themed album Mundo Verde/Green World. “Gozar,” which means “enjoy” in Spanish, was recorded in Santo Domingo with members of Juan Luis Guerra’s legendary merengue band, 440.

“I want to create songs that open people’s eyes to the natural wonders of this great big world that we all share,” says Mister G. “Not only to encourage them enjoy it, as “Gozar” expresses, but also to help them understand that no matter who you are—child or adult—there is much that we can do to protect and cherish our planet.”

The tropical single arrives just in time to welcome summer and will be part of Mundo Verde/Green World, the follow-up to Mister G’s Latin GRAMMY Award-winning album, Los Animales. The new album, which he previewed during the Peoples Climate March in Washington, D.C. on April 29, is a collection of inspirational, bilingual songs intended to unite people of all ages and ethnicities in support of conservation and action.

Mundo Verde/Green World features collaborations with major figures in the Latin music world performing an eclectic range of styles, from bomba and salsa, to reggae and bossa nova. The songs approach green themes from various angles that are accessible and relevant to children and adults. The title track, “Mundo Verde,” is a samba-inspired song appreciating the wonders of the natural world; “Agua” celebrates the significance of water to the planet’s ecosystems; “Sí Se Puede” is a rallying cry to protect the environment; “El Coqui” is a salsa tune written from the perspective of the beloved native frog of Puerto Rico who sings about the beautiful rainforest of his country.

One of the leading figures in the children’s music world, Mister G headlines festivals, theaters and performing arts centers, including Austin City Limits, New Orleans JazzFest, Symphony Space (NYC) and the Getty Museum (LA). Recognized as “one of the best live acts for kids and families” and called a “kid-friendly bilingual rock star” by The Washington Post, Mister G’s charismatic, interactive concerts are equally compelling for children and adults.
